Aug 30, 2023I was 20 & thought it would be a good idea to get eyeliner permanently tattooed…17 years later, I still really regret it
A WOMAN has revealed that she thought it would be a good idea to get eyeliner permanently tattooed when she was just 20-years-old.
However, Ashlee Knichols explained that it was her “biggest mistake” and 17 years later, she is still massively regretting it.
Posting online, Ashlee, who is from San Antonio, Texas, gave her followers a close-up look at her tattooed eyeliner, as she noted: “Biggest regret and mistake of my life. Wish I could tell my 20 year old self DON'T DO IT!!!!!
In the short clip, which was shared on social media, the beauty fan and mum-of-three explained that people often ask her: “Why is your eyeliner tattooed? Why are you getting it removed?”
To this, Ashlee attached an audio that simply said: “Everybody makes mistakes.”
When talking about her permanent eyeliner, Ashlee later confirmed: “I never loved it.
“I was 20 and dumb! 17 years later I need it gone.
“I wish mine would have faded. It turned blue and I did top and bottom.
“I just don’t want anything permanent on my face anymore.”
In another video, Ashlee explained that she is going to go through the process of getting her tattooed eyeliner removed.
She noted: “The permanent eyeliner removal journey is about to start and I’m slightly freaking out.”
As we saw her going her make-up, she explained: “I’m getting ready to go and have a consultation to remove my permanent eyeliner, which I’ve had since I was 20.
“I’ve had it for 17 years and I’m ready to not have it anymore.
“I have been doing my research and I feel like it’s going to take at least six to eight treatments, which is going to be very lengthy, but I’ve wanted this done for so long that I am willing to do that.
“I just know that it’s going to hurt really badly, because doing the eyeliner was literally the worst pain I’ve ever felt in my entire life and I’ve had three children.”
Ashlee then revealed: “The removal is $150 [£120] per session for both top and bottom.”
In a follow-up video, Ashlee filmed herself after the first round of the removal process.
She said: “This is about one hour post treatment.
“They’re definitely swollen, now we just wait and see how long the scabs stay on and essentially, I cannot get them wet, so you want them to scab as long as they can and then the colour comes off with the scab.
“I’m very hopeful that this first treatment pulls a lot of the colour out, but I will likely have to go back six more times, which I’m going to have a hard time making myself go back.
“So how they did it - they basically re-tattoo the area, so you are injuring the skin.
“The pain was tolerable. [But] then the left eye, she had to go over it with no numbing cream.”
Ashlee’s TikTok clip, which was shared under the username @ashleeknichols, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed a whopping 385,000 views.
Social media users took to the comments to share their beauty regrets.
One person said: “Same!!! Mine is 7 years old and has turned blue! I absolutely hate it.”
Another added: “Mine hurt so bad they couldn’t even finish so I now have two uneven lines that are quite far above the lash line.”
A third commented: “You should see my eyebrows. Biggest regret of my life.”
Whilst someone else chimed in: “I got a couple mistakes too girly.”
